How to store beets?
What’s the difference between storing beets at room temperature, in the refrigerator, or in the freezer?
There are three main ways to store beets: Refrigerate, freeze, or root cellar.
Each method has its own benefits and drawbacks.
1 In this blogpost I’m going to cover each way to store beets and give you my opinion on which method is best for you.
Best ways to store beets
Beets are easy to store and maintain. They can be stored whole in the refrigerator for several weeks. To prevent discoloration, cut off the tops and bottoms of the beetroot. If you live in a cold climate, you can store root vegetables such as carrots, turnips, rutabagas, parsnips, celery root, and potatoes in a cool basement or garage. Keep them in a dry location where they won’t get wet. Store them in plastic bags or boxes in the refrigerator. Kitchen garden Answer: You can plant a vegetable garden in a sunny spot in your yard. Choose a site that gets full sun during summer months. Plant seeds directly in the ground or buy transplants from a nursery. Vegetables grown in containers can be moved indoors if frost threatens.
