How to Install a GE Ice Maker
Installing an ice maker is easy. First, remove the old unit from the freezer. Then, attach the new unit to the back wall of the freezer using the mounting brackets provided. Next, connect the wires to the new unit. Finally, plug the power cord into the electrical outlet.
Study the User Manual
To install the ice maker, you will need to remove the existing ice bin. Remove the screws holding the bin to the freezer frame. Slide the bin away from the frame. Remove the two bolts holding the bin to the frame. Lift the bin off the frame. Unplug the wire harness from the bin. Remove the bin from the freezer. Disconnect the wiring harness from the bin. Plug the harness into the new ice maker. Screw the bin back onto the frame. Replace the screws holding the bin onto the frame. Reinstall the screws holding the bin into the frame. Connect the wiring harness to the new ice maker. Reconnect the wire harness to the bin. Replace the bin into the freezer.

To remove the old ice maker, simply unscrew the mounting bracket from the wall. Then slide the ice maker out of the way. Next, remove the three screws holding the ice maker to the frame. Finally, pull the ice maker out of its mount.

Finally, connect the wiring harness to the ice maker. Replace the Door Panel Answer : To replace the door panel, first slide the door panel into place. Then, reconnect the wiring harness to the door handle. Screw the four screws securing the panel to the refrigerator.
Fix the Water Valve Assembly
Remove the two screws holding the water valve assembly to the back wall of the refrigerator. Replace the rubber washer and tighten the screw. Install the Drain Line Answer: First, disconnect the drain line from the existing drain pan. Then, remove the old drain pan. Next, install the new drain pan. Tighten the screws securing the drain pan to the bottom of the refrigerator.
Important to Note
Make sure the drain pan is level and flush against the bottom of the refrigerator door. Also, make sure the drain pan is not touching any other part of the refrigerator.
