Haier Refrigerator Freezer Not Freezing – How to Fix
If your refrigerator freezer isn’t freezing properly, check if the ice maker is working correctly. If not, try cleaning the ice tray and making sure it is full of ice. Also, ensure that the door is closed tightly. If these steps fail, call a professional repairman.
1. Evaporator Coils
Evaporator coils are located in the back of the fridge. These coils are responsible for cooling the air inside the fridge. If the evaporator coil gets clogged, it will affect the cooling process of the fridge. To clean the evaporator coil, remove the panel from the back of the fridge and open the access door. Remove the filter and wash it thoroughly using soap and warm water. Clean the evaporator coil using a brush and dry it completely. Replace the filter and replace the panel. 2. Door Seal Answer: Check if the door seals are damaged. If yes, replace the door seals.
2. Start Relay
Check if the start relay is working properly. If not, check if the power supply is connected correctly. 3. Water Filter Answer: Check if there is any blockage in the water filter. If yes, clean the filter.
3. Temperature Control Thermostat
Check if the thermostat is working properly. If no, replace the thermostat. 4. Oven Door Sensor Answer: Check if the oven door sensor is working properly. If yes, replace the oven door sensor.
4. Evaporator Fan Motor
Check if the evaporator fan motor is working properly. If not, replace the evaporator fan motor. 5. Heater Element 6. Heat Exchanger
5. Condenser Coils
1. Check the thermostat setting. Make sure the unit is set to the correct temperature. 2. Check the electrical connections. 3. Check the wiring harness. 4. Check the condensate drain line. 5. Check the heater element. 6. Check the heat exchanger.
6. Condenser Fan Motor
1. Check the Thermostat Setting. Check the thermostat setting on the top of the unit. It should read 120 degrees F 49 C. If not, adjust the thermostat.
Other Freezer Parts to Troubleshoot
2. Check the Thermostatic Control Valve. If the thermostatic control valve is stuck open, the freezer will run constantly. To fix this problem, turn off the power switch and remove the back panel. Remove the two screws holding the thermostatic control valves. Replace the thermostatic control with new parts. Screw the thermostatic control back into place. Turn the power switch back on.
Technical Parts to Check
Thermostat – This is the part that controls the temperature inside the freezer. It senses the temperature inside the freezer and turns the compressor on and off accordingly. Compressor Motor – This is the motor that runs the compressor. It is controlled by the thermostat. Condenser Fan – This fan blows air across the condenser coils. It helps cool down the refrigerant gas.
1. Air Circulation
Air circulation is very important because if the air does not circulate properly, the cold air will accumulate near the door and warm air will stay inside the refrigerator. 2. Door Seal Answer: A good quality seal ensures that the cold air stays inside the refrigerator and no warm air gets into the refrigerator.
2. Freezer Temperature
A freezer should maintain a temperature between -18°C and 0°C. 3. Humidity Control Answer: It is recommended to set humidity level between 30% and 40%.
3. Door Seal
It is recommended to set door seal level between 80% and 90%. 4. Ventilation Answer: It is recommend to set ventilation level between 60% and 70%.
4. Freezer Content
It is recommend to set freezer content level between 40% and 50%. 5. Temperature Control Answer: It is recommended to set temperature control level between 30% and 35%.
Why is refrigerator working but freezer not freezing?
To reset the freezer, simply press the power button until the display explains “ON”. Then press the “Menu” button. Press the “1” key to select the “Freezer” option. Press the “2” key to select “Reset”. Press the “OK” button to confirm.
Why is my freezer not freezing fast?
