The company says its new icemaker uses a special coating that allows it to produce less ice.
This means that ice won’t accumulate inside the appliance, which makes it easier to clean.

If you notice ice forming around the edges of the refrigerator door, or if the ice forms on the bottom of the freezer drawer, the problem could be caused by a leaky compressor. This type of leak is usually caused by a loose connection between the evaporator coil and the compressor. To fix this problem, follow these steps: 1 Remove the refrigerator from the wall 2 Check the wiring connections 3 Disconnect the power supply 4 Unplug the refrigerator 5 Turn off the breaker 6 Remove the screws holding the evaporator coil 7 Pull the evaporator coil away from the compressor 8 Replace the evaporator coil 9 Reconnect the wires 10 Plug the power back into the circuit board 11 Reattach the screws 12 Turn the breaker back on 13 Reset the refrigerator 14 Turn the refrigerator back on 15 Enjoy your new refrigerator!
1. Check the Temperature Setting
Check the temperature setting on the thermostat. Make sure it’s set to the correct temperature. It should be set to "cool" or "off". If the temperature is set to "heat", it will only heat when the door is open. If the temperature is set too low, it won’t cool down enough to freeze the air inside the fridge. 2. Check the location. Make sure the freezer is not located near any electrical outlets. Also check if the freezer is plugged into a surge protector. If it is plugged into a surge protecter, unplug it and see if the problem persists. If it does, replace the surge protector. If the problem still exists after replacing the surge protector, call GE customer service.

Why is my GE refrigerator icing up?
