In order to fix this issue, you’ll have to replace the faulty part.
Fortunately, replacing the ice maker is fairly straightforward
How Does a GE Refrigerator Ice Maker Work?
GE refrigerators have been around for many years now. It was founded in 1892 and has become one of the world’s leading manufacturers of household appliances. In addition to being a manufacturer of refrigerators, GE also produces other products such as air conditioners, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers, stoves, ovens, televisions, lighting fixtures, lawn mowers, snow blowers, and even boats. GE refrigerator ice makers are designed to produce ice cubes from water. This process involves freezing water into ice cubes. The ice maker uses cold air to freeze the water into ice cubes. These ice cubes are stored in the freezer compartment of the refrigerator. There are different types of GE refrigerator ice makers available today. Most of these ice makers are built into the refrigerator itself. However, there are also standalone ice makers that can be placed anywhere in the house.
Step 1: Filling the Ice Mold
To start making ice, first fill the mold with water. Make sure that the water level is about half way up the mold. Then place the mold in the freezer compartment of your refrigerator. Step 2: Turning On the Machine Answer: Once the machine is turned on, it will automatically begin producing ice cubes. The ice cube production will continue until the water runs out.
Step 2: Freezing the Water
Once the water is frozen, remove the mold from the freezer. It is now ready to use.

Why Isn’t My GE ice Maker Working?
If you are having problems with your ice maker not working, check the following items: 1. Make sure the ice bin is full. 2. Check the drain line for blockages.
1. Water Inlet Valve Is Malfunctioning
If you notice that the water level indicator is explaining low water levels, this could mean that the water inlet valve is malfunctioning. To fix this problem, turn off the power switch and remove the back panel from the refrigerator. Remove the two screws holding the water inlet valve assembly in place. Then lift the valve assembly straight up and pull it out. Clean the valve using warm water and soap. Reinstall the valve assembly and replace the back panel.
2. Temperature Is too High
To check if the temperature is too high, open the door and see if the ice cubes are floating. If they are not floating, the temperature is probably too high. To lower the temperature, turn off the compressor and wait 5 minutes. Turn the compressor back on and let it run until the temperature reaches normal. 3. Refrigerator Door Won’t Open Or Close Answer: This problem usually occurs because the hinge pin is broken. To repair it, take apart the refrigerator door and remove the hinge pins. Replace the hinge pins and reassemble the door.
Dirty Coils

Then, spray the coils with a solution of 1/2 cup baking soda mixed with 3 cups warm water. Let the coils sit overnight, and then wash them again with a sponge and hot water.

Ice module failure is caused by improper operation of the ice maker. In case the ice maker is not working properly, it could be because of clogged drain line or blocked filter. To fix this problem, check if the drain line is clear and free from any obstruction. Also, check if the filter is clogged and replace it if necessary. 4. Water Leaks From Tank Answer: This is usually caused by a leaky faucet or pipe. Check the faucets and pipes around the tank to see if there is any leakage. If you find any leaks, repair them immediately.
4. Switch Is Faulty
If the switch is faulty, it will not turn off the power supply to the machine. It will only allow the water to flow into the ice cube tray. So, if the machine is still running after switching it off, it means the switch is faulty. Replace it immediately. 5. Power Supply Failure Answer: If the power supply fails, it will not provide electricity to the machine. So, if the power supply is not working, it will not produce ice cubes.
