GE has recently announced that they will stop selling their refrigerators that don’t come with water dispensers.
This is a huge problem for those who live in areas where tap water isn’t safe or affordable.
What should I do?
The refrigerator is one of the most important appliances in our homes.
They provide us with a place to store food and drinks, keeping them fresh and cold.
Unfortunately, some models of these fridges don’t include a built-in water dispenser.
This means that you’ll have to purchase one separately.
If you want to save money, consider buying a fridge with a built-in water filter.

No Water Or Ice from GE Refrigerator – Solutions
This problem could be caused by several factors such as: 1. Water line leak
1. Install New Water Filter
If you have no water coming out of the refrigerator, check the following: 1. Check the drain hose connection to see if it is clogged. 2. Check the filter in the refrigerator.
2. Defrost Water Supply Line
You can install new water filter in the fridge. It is very easy to install. Just take off the old filter and put the new one.
3. Thaw Frozen Water Tank
Defrosting frozen water tank is not difficult. Just remove the ice from the tank and let it thaw. Then refill the tank with cold water. 4. Clean the Ice Maker If you see any dirt or dust on the ice maker, clean it immediately. Otherwise, it will affect the performance of the ice maker.
4. Replace Damaged Water Inlet Valve
You can check if the water inlet valve is damaged by checking the water level in the reservoir. If the water level is low, the water inlet valve needs replacement. 5. Check the Drain Line Check the drain line to ensure that it is clear of debris and clogs. If necessary, replace the drain hose.
5. Reset Ice Maker Supply Line Burst Valve
To reset the ice maker supply line burst valve, turn off the power switch and remove the back panel from the freezer. Remove the plastic cap from the top of the freezer. Then, loosen the screws holding the back panel in place and pull it away from the freezer. Next, remove the two screws holding the bottom panel in place. Finally, lift the bottom panel away from the freezer. Now, remove the old burst valve assembly and install the new one. Reinstall the back panel and tighten the screws. Turn the power switch back on and test the ice maker. 6. Clean the Filter Clean the filter every month to prevent buildup of sediment. To clean the filter, first remove the access panel covering the filter area. Then, open the filter door and remove the filter cartridge. Rinse the filter with warm water and let it dry completely. Replace the filter cartridge and reinstall the access panel.
6. Change Defective Dispenser Control Board
If the dispenser control board is defective, you will not be able to dispense ice cubes. First, check if the dispenser control board has been damaged. If it has, replace it immediately. Second, check if the dispensing mechanism is working properly. If it isn’t, replace the dispenser control board. 7. Check the Water Level Check the water level in the reservoir every month. If the water level is low, add distilled water until the water level reaches the recommended level.

8. Replace Faulty Door Switch
To replace the faulty door switch, first remove the panel from the back of the refrigerator. Then locate the two screws holding the panel in place. Remove these screws and lift off the panel. Next, remove the four screws holding the door switch assembly in place. Lift the door switch assembly out of the opening. Disconnect the wires connected to the door switch assembly. Finally, install the new door switch assembly into the opening. Tighten the screws securing the door switch assembly in position. Connect the wires to the new door switch assembly. Replace the panel and reinstall the screws. 9. Clean the Ice Maker Answer: To clean the ice maker, first turn off the power supply to the refrigerator. Then open the freezer compartment door. Remove the ice tray and wash it thoroughly with warm water and soap. Rinse the ice tray well under running tap water. Dry the ice tray and replace it in the freezer compartment. Turn on the power supply to the refrigeration system. Reconnect the cord to the ice maker.
9. Install New Control Board
To replace the control board, first disconnect the power supply to the unit. Then remove the old control board. Be sure to save the old control board for future reference. Unscrew the mounting bracket from the wall. Remove the control board and discard. Screw the new control board into the mounting bracket. Reattach the wiring harness to the new control board. Reconnect the power supply to the control board. Turn on the power to the unit. 10. Check the Refrigerator Compressor Motor Answer: To check the compressor motor, first shut down the refrigerator. Then remove the access panel located behind the refrigerator. Look for the three screws holding the access panel in place. Remove the screws and lift off the access panel. Inspect the compressor motor for any signs of wear or damage. If necessary, repair the motor using replacement parts. Replace the access panel and reassemble the refrigerator.
